Questions we get asked
Replacing a sump pump in an existing pit is $650 plus HST, supplied and installed. With a battery backup added, it is $1,750.
A new sump pit and pump is $2,400 plus HST. That includes cutting the concrete, chipping the floor and digging the pit. Adding a battery backup at the same time is $1,100 more.
Storms knock out the power at the same time the pit fills up. A battery backup keeps pumping through the outage, which is when most basements flood.
Constant running, rapid on and off cycling, strange noises, or water in the pit with the pump not starting are the common signs. Lift the float to test it: the pump should start and empty the pit.
A pump swap in an existing pit is usually done in one visit. A new pit takes longer because the floor has to be cut and dug.
